Working with us
Who will actually show up?
Jorge, the owner. A to Z Security is a small local business, so the person you talk to on the phone is the person who does the work.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. We do not lock anyone into multi-year contracts. You stay because you're happy with the service. More on that in do you need a long-term alarm contract?
How much will it cost?
Visits in Fountain Hills are free. Elsewhere, service calls start at $85. For bigger jobs like an alarm system, we look first and give you a clear price before any work starts. The IndiGo personal safety wearable is $199 for the device and $39.99 a month for monitoring. See pricing.
I'm not good with technology. Is this for me?
Yes. We set everything up, show you how it works in plain language, and make sure you're comfortable before we leave. If you have a question later, call or text.
Are you insured and certified?
Yes. We carry the insurance required for residential and commercial work, and Jorge holds an Arizona alarm agent certification from the Board of Technical Registration.
What if something stops working later?
Call or text the same number. You won't get a call center or a ticket number, you get the owner.
Do you work with businesses?
Yes. Jorge's background is commercial security work with ADT Commercial and Pavion, and we help offices, shops and other businesses as well as homes.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday. We take emergency calls when we're available.
What areas do you serve?
Fountain Hills and the whole Valley, from Buckeye and Surprise in the west to Cave Creek in the north and Queen Creek and San Tan Valley in the southeast. We travel anywhere in Arizona for the right job. See service areas.
Alarms
Can I control my alarm from my phone?
Yes. Smart alarm panels let you arm, disarm and get alerts from an app. We set up the app with you so you know how to use it.
What happens to my alarm in a power outage?
Alarm panels have a backup battery that keeps them running for hours. If the panel beeps about a low battery after a storm, the backup may need replacing. More in heat, dust and monsoons.
Cameras and doorbells
Can you fix a camera or doorbell someone else set up?
Yes. Troubleshooting cameras and doorbells that are already there, getting them back online and connected to the app, is a big part of what we do.
Why does my Wi-Fi camera keep going offline?
Usually weak Wi-Fi, a power problem or a change on your network. Here is how to find the cause, or call and we'll sort it out.
Do cameras hold up in Arizona heat?
Many outdoor cameras are rated to about 122°F, and a camera in afternoon sun can get hotter than that. Shade and placement help. See cameras in Arizona heat.
Is it legal to record audio on my cameras?
Video of your own property is generally fine. Audio is where Arizona's eavesdropping law comes in. Read recording audio on home cameras in Arizona.
IndiGo personal safety wearable
Does my parent need a smartphone?
No. IndiGo works on its own over cellular service. Family can use the companion app if they want to follow along.
What if they fall and can't press the button?
IndiGo has fall detection when it's worn around the neck on the lanyard. No device catches every fall, so it's a backup to the button, not a replacement.
Does it work away from home?
Yes. It uses cellular service and location, so it works at the store, on a walk or in the car.
Who answers when they press the button?
Trained professionals at a 24/7 monitoring center. They can talk through the device and send help.
What does it cost?
$199 for the device and $39.99 a month for 24/7 professional monitoring, with no long-term contract. See IndiGo details.
Still have a question? Just ask.
Call or text and you reach the owner, not a call center. No long-term contracts.
